This blog post is the fourth in a series of blogs for those who would like to know more about what is going on behind the scenes and to try some basic HTML coding for themselves. Once you learn the basics of coding, you will find that it opens up many possible options for your content formatting.

We highly recommend that you start with the first post in the series if you are new to HTML coding. If you have not read the first post in this topic, you can find it here: Basic HTML Coding Options for WordPress

How to add images using HTML coding.

Do you want to add an image to your page or post? Today we look at how to do it.

The code for displaying an image looks like this:

<img src=”” style=”float: right;”/>

“img” = image
“src” = source (put the image address in the quotes)

Every image on your website is given a web address. (See image above) When you view the image in your media library you will find the image url in the section on the top right corner. You can copy and paste this information into the image tag.

This tag does not need a closing tag.

You can use style attributes like style=”float: right;”. This attribute will align the image to the right of the webpage and wrap the following text around it on the left size. You can use this attribute for left and right alignment for the image.
